Overland Park: Long-term ramp closures at 435/69 interchange
OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) - As part of Johnson County’s U.S. 69 Highway expansion, multiple ramps at and near the I-435/U.S. 69 interchange are fully closed to traffic starting at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7.
The following ramps will be closed for approximately six months:
- Eastbound I-435 to northbound U.S. 69 ramp
- Northbound U.S. 69 to westbound I-435 ramp
- Northbound U.S. 69 to 103 Street exit ramp
The westbound College Boulevard to eastbound I-435 entrance ramp will be closed for approximately two months.
Northbound U.S. 69 access at College Boulevard will remain open via the newly constructed northbound U.S. 69 entrance ramp, which is scheduled to open prior to the ramp closures. Before these closures, traffic will be shifted onto northbound U.S. 69, between College Boulevard and 103 Street.
KDOT says these closures are for road and ramp reconstruction, bridge repair, and construction. During the closures, detours will be marked as follows:
- Eastbound I-435 to northbound U.S. 69 traffic: continue east on I-435 and use the southbound U.S. 69 ramp, then travel south on U.S. 69 to exit at 119th Street. Turn left to travel east on 119th Street to use the northbound U.S. 69 entrance ramp.
- Northbound U.S. 69 to westbound I-435 traffic: continue north on U.S. 69 to use the 95th Street exit ramp. Turn left to travel west on 95th Street, then use the southbound U.S. 69 entrance ramp. Travel south on U.S. 69 to use the westbound I-435 ramp.
- Northbound U.S. 69 to 103rd Street traffic: continue north on U.S. 69 to use the 95th Street exit ramp. Turn left to travel west on 95th Street, then use the southbound U.S. 69 entrance ramp. Travel south on U.S. 69 to use the 103rd Street exit ramp.
