FIRST WARN FORECAST: Rain moves out, a preview of summer ahead
Scattered rain will continue overnight, but it will largely be wrapped up by daybreak. Although a stray early shower isn’t impossible, the vast majority of us will not see a drop of rain Thursday. The attention now turns to an extended pleasant and sunny stretch, with summer-like heat building in.
THURSDAY: A slim chance for a morning shower, then dry in Kansas City with increasing sun. Morning low 50s turn to afternoon low 70s with a northeast breeze at 10-15 mph. A spotty thunderstorm or two is possible south of Kansas City in the afternoon.

FRIDAY: Sunny, low 70s, low humidity, and light northeast winds at 5-10 mph.
THE WEEKEND: Both days will be spectacular. Blue skies, low humidity, and light winds will continue. Saturday goes to the upper 70s, with Mother’s Day warming to around 80.

NEXT WEEK: Even warmer with mid-80s by Wednesday. A low chance for storms enters the picture by mid-week.
