KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Police make arrests and write dozens of tickets after busting illegal sideshows both north and south of the river in Kansas City overnight.

The police department said officers arrested two people and issued 57 citations. Some of the tickets were for people standing around watching the people driving, according to officers.

Officers also had six cars involved in the sideshows towed. They said some of the vehicles used had been reported stolen.

The department said they are committed to making Kansas City streets safer for everyone.

“Officers put their personal safety at risk against hundreds of criminals who chose not to obey the law, but the streets belong to all of us, and we will continue the work,” the department said in a post on X.

Officers also recovered four guns as they busted up the sideshows.
