KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Protests at Tesla dealerships in response to policies coming out of the Trump administration may be influencing a decline in the car company’s stock value.

Demonstrators outside the dealership on State Line Road near 103rd Street expressed their various signs that largely criticized Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, for his political views and online behavior.

“Nobody Elected Musk”, “Get Your Musky Hands Off My Democracy,” and even a dog wearing a sign that read “Dogs Against Doge” were just some of the chosen words that garnered honks from cars that were passing by.

One protester, Suzanne Johnson, voiced concerns about immigration policies and emphasized that the protests are intended to be peaceful and promote unity.

“I myself was adopted at the age of three from South Korea, and so for the first time in 55 years, I’m having to carry my passport because of the culture war,” Johnson said. “The biggest thing is that we matter. People matter, veterans matter, teachers matter, federal workers matter, warehouse workers matter.”

Musk took to social media today to say, “Just wanted to say thank you to everyone supporting Tesla in the face of relentless attacks.”

Around 10 Tesla dealerships, charging stations and other facilities have been targeted by vandals in the past week, including the dealership on Stateline Road.

On Monday, two Cybertrucks caught fire and were ruled suspicious in nature by federal authorities.

Musk said on Thursday that he believed the attacks were coordinated, but both the FBI and ATF have said there isn’t any evidence to suggest they have been coordinated.

The Tesla Takedown protests began five weeks ago and continue to grow. Meanwhile, during that time Tesla stock has dropped by more than 80 points.

“I have hope, but what I want to see is like a thousand of us here on the sidewalk next week,” Johnson said.
