Hundreds of new jobs headed to Platte City
Governor celebrates Northland expansion
PLATTE CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Central Power Systems and Services has opened its newest warehouse off I-29 and 92 Hwy in Platte City.
The facility will employ hundreds of workers and add more than 240 new jobs in Platte City over the next several years.
On Monday, workers, representatives, and Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe made the opening official. The governor helped cut the ribbon and said business expansion is great for the local community and Missouri as a whole.
“Really happy to see the expansion here in Platte City,” Gov. Kehoe said. “It’s a great day for northern Kansas City and all of Missouri.”
Gov. Kehoe also pointed out the facility’s emphasis on workforce development, a focus across the state.
“This is it in living proof. The way they’re going to work with the local career and technical center, training, providing internships. They’re making sure we identify what young men and women want to do as they graduate,” Gov. Kehoe said.
Platte City’s mayor, Steve Hoeger, said the new facility will be a key part of the northland’s continuous growth. During the site’s introduction, Mayor Hoeger declared March 24 Central Power Day in Platte City.
