Union Station extends Disney exhibition because of popularity

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Walt Disney fans will have more time to experience its magic without leaving Kansas City.

Union Station and the Walt Disney Archives announced “Disney100: The Exhibition” is extended.

It will be on display at Union Station for an additional five weeks. The last day the exhibiting will be open is Jan. 5. That means visitors in the metro for the holiday season will have the chance to see the exhibit.

Union Station said more than 100,000 tickets have already been sold for the popular exhibit. People from all 50 states have traveled to Kansas City to see the display.

Disney100: The Exhibition is described as one of the largest and most immersive projects from the Walt Disney Archives.

The exhibit includes 10 galleries showcasing more than 250 Disney items, including:

  • Original costumes for characters such as Cruella, Captain Barbossa, Black Panther, and Ariel
  • Film props
    • prop storybooks from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Sleeping Beauty
    • prop spell book from Hocus Pocus used by Bette Midler
    • Cinderella’s glass slipper
    • the Skywalker lightsaber hilt used by Daisy Ridley in Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker 
  • artwork and three-dimensional maquettes showing the journey of animated characters and stories

Visitors will also find photo ops featuring some of the most popular Disney characters.

Tickets are available online at UnionStation.org for times and dates through Jan. 5. Note, there are special holiday hours.

Ticket prices are as follows:

  • Adult: $25
  • Seniors (55+): $22.50
  • Child (4-12): $20
  • Union Station Members: $18.50
