Woman charged with murder of KC paramedic ordered to undergo medical testing
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - As Kansas City prepares to pay respects to a firefighter/paramedic killed while transporting a patient, a judge orders the woman charged with his death to undergo medical tests.
A Clay County judge ordered Shanetta Bossell to submit to infectious or communicable disease screening.
The order said the judge granted the screening “due in part to the state’s allegations of assault.”
According to the order, the 39-year-old will be tested for the following diseases:
- HIV
- Hepatitis B
- Hepatitis C
- Syphilis
- Gonorrhea
- Chlamydia
Bossell is charged with biting an officer after prosecutors say she stabbed Graham Hoffman with a knife when they were in the back of an ambulance.
Bossell is also charged with biting a Platte City police officer on April 23, as he tried to arrest her.
Bossell will be in court next week after she requested a reduction in her bond. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 6.
