Taylor Swift: A love story at Children’s Mercy Hospital
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - There’s a new love story to share from Children’s Mercy Hospital (CMH). Superstar Taylor Swift stopped in to visit some adoring fans just one day before her 35th birthday.
Taylor’s unexpected drop-in put big smiles on kids’ faces during their most difficult days.
A KCTV viewer and mother of patient Baylee sent us videos. Taylor met with Baylee, her mom calling it “the coolest surprise ever.”
Melissa Nunez posted Baylee and Taylor exchanging gifts. Taylor gave Baylee a signed copy of her ‘Eras Tour’ book - in return - Baylee gifted the superstar with a diamond art picture.
We also spoke with Riley over Zoom. Riley is being treated for bone cancer at Children’s Mercy. Riley’s mom was thrilled to speak with Taylor on Facetime, too.
“This was definitely a shock because the most they’ve done for people I’ve seen was KC Wolfe. It was cool. She’s now the most famous person I’ve met,” said Riley Green.
“It’s one of our core memories now. We’ll remember it for a lifetime,” said Riley’s mom, Missy Slover.
Taylor’s visit flooded social media - she even took a picture with CMH’s therapy dog, Jellybean.
