Single gunshot wound found during autopsy of disgraced Kansas City detective
EDWARDSVILLE, Kan. (KCTV) - An autopsy has revealed that a single gunshot wound was found on the temple of a disgraced Kansas City detective during an autopsy, however, a cause of death has not yet been determined.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation announced on Thursday, Dec. 5, that the medical examiner has finalized the autopsy results in the investigation into the death of Roger Golubski, former Kansas City, Kansas, Police Department detective.
The investigation revealed that a single gunshot wound to the temple was found on the deceased, however, the cause or manner of death was not ruled on at the time of the autopsy.
Law enforcement officials noted that a cause of death will be decided in the final autopsy report after toxicology results have returned and the investigation has furthered. A final autopsy could take up to 12 weeks.
Golubski was found deceased inside his home on Monday, Dec. 2, as he was set to face a federal trial in Topeka for alleged civil rights violations. His attorney reported the disgraced detective was despondent over the trial’s media attention.
Due to Golubski’s death, the trial has been dismissed as his alleged victims continue to call for justice.
Currently, KBI agents indicated that no signs of foul play have been found. The investigation remains ongoing and no further information has been released.
