KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - AMC isn’t venturing far from home to unveil it’s newest effort to enhance the theater experience.

The company, based in Leawood, opened its first two “XL at AMC” auditoriums. Both are in the Kansas City metro and can be found at the following two locations.

  • AMC DINE-IN Studio 28 in Olathe
  • AMC DINE-IN Prairiefire 17 in Overland Park

The XL theaters feature wall-to-wall screens that are at least 40 feet side. They also have 4K Laser projection.

Movies playing in the new XL theaters will be branded that way on AMC’s website and mobile app so customers can easily buy the correct tickets.

AMC plans to eventually open as many as 50 XL auditoriums in the U.S. this year.
