KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - After months of waiting, a Blue Springs business is ready to crack open the can.

Smalls Sliders announced it will open its newest location on April 24.

The location on the southwest corner of Mock Avenue and Route 7 is just the second Smalls Sliders location in Missouri. The other location is in the St. Louis area.

Crews in Blue Springs were busy pouring the parking lot for the new restaurant on Wednesday.

Smalls Sliders is known for cheeseburger sliders, but also offers fries, shakes, queso, and a signature ‘Smauce’ sauce.

It is also easily identifiable by its bright orange color and its unique design that incorporates a “Smorange Can.” The can is a shipping container redesigned into a fast food restaurant offering a walk-up window and drive-thru.

The restaurant is based in Atlanta and is backed by former NFL star Drew Brees. A franchise agreement announced last year calls for nine Smalls Sliders locations in the Kansas City metro.

Initial information from the company said it was looking at locations in Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, Overland Park, Olathe, Liberty and Independence.
