KC Current’s AD Franch nominated for NWSL Community Impact Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - One of the stars of the Kansas City Current was nominated Tuesday for a community impact award thanks to her work with a local student technology organization.

WeCodeKC, an organization that empowers Kansas City’s urban core through technology education, announced its partnership with KC Current goalkeeper AD Franch Tuesday as she became the club’s nominee for the 2024 NWSL Lauren Holiday Community Impact Award.

“I am very passionate about giving back to the community and honored to be selected as the Current’s nominee,” said Franch. “More importantly, I’m proud to be providing a platform for the incredible work happening daily at WeCode KC giving urban core youth the opportunities to be proficient in cybersecurity and technology is extremely important, and I am looking forward to seeing how WeCode continues to impact Kansas City.”

WeCodeKC said Franch has been a consistent presence at summer technology camps and has actively engaged with students to help them build cybersecurity skills.
