Lauren Magarino is thrilled to join KCTV5 as an anchor. She enjoys digging deep into the stories and issues shaping our lives, and looks forward to doing just that in the Kansas City community.
She previously served as an anchor, producer and national correspondent at Scripps News. Her time there could be likened to Billy Joel’s “We Didn’t Start the Fire.” From presidential elections and impeachments, to a global pandemic and public outcry for racial justice, to wars in the Middle East and Ukraine, Lauren has given audiences a front-row seat to some of the largest national and international stories in recent history.
Lauren was raised in Miami, FL and is a proud graduate of the Missouri School of Journalism, M-I-Z. She loves collecting vinyl and listening to music with her 15-year-old dog, Suki. She is also an appreciator of the arts. She is working on her golf swing and is committed to learning how to play tennis... someday. In her world, there’s always a pocket for dessert. Have a story?
