(Gray News) - Two tomato recalls have been issued due to potential salmonella contamination.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration shared a recall notice for Ray & Mascari 4-Count Vine Ripe Tomatoes packaged in clamshell containers, as they may be contaminated with salmonella.

The recalled tomatoes were sold by Gordon Food Service stores in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Mississippi, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Wisconsin.

No illnesses have been reported, but consumers who have purchased the tomatoes have been urged to discard them immediately.

According to the recall, Ray & Mascari was notified by Hanshaw & Capling Farms of Immokalee, Florida, that they were recalling the lot of tomatoes due to the possible presence of salmonella at the facility.

The FDA also released a separate recall notice for tomatoes by Williams Farms Repack LLC, due to a possible salmonella contamination.

Those tomatoes were distributed between April 23 and April 28 to wholesalers and distributors in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina.

Officials say no illnesses have been reported, but consumers who purchased any of these tomatoes are encouraged to discard them immediately.
