KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Chiefs are bringing back a key member of their defensive line for a third season.

Defensive end Charles Omenihu and the Chiefs agreed to terms on a one-year deal, according to a report from ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The deal is reportedly worth up to $7 million.

Omenihu signed with the Chiefs in free agency prior to the 2023 season on a two-year deal. He spent the majority of the 2024 season recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens.

The Texas product turns 28 in August and has 19.5 career sacks in 78 games. In two seasons with the Chiefs, he’s played in 17 games and had 8 sacks.

He was originally a fifth-round pick of the Houston Texans in the 2019 NFL Draft.
