Executive producer of Chiefs Radio Network, Dan Israel, dies after battle with cancer
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Chiefs Radio Network executive producer Dan Israel has died after a battle with cancer at the age of 60.
Israel worked every Chiefs game the team has played since 1990. He was diagnosed with colon cancer 10 years ago and told KCTV in February it had recently spread to his lungs.
His family shared the news of his passing on Thursday.
In February, Israel told KCTV his job helped him get through the exhaustion of his cancer battle.

“You have to have a reason to get out of bed every day,” he said. “The treatment itself can be overwhelming, very fatiguing.”
Israel was unsure if he was going to be able to make it to New Orleans for the Super Bowl in February because of appointments but they were moved so he could experience the big game one more time.
96.5 The Fan shared a statement following Israel’s passing.
“We’re heartbroken over the passing of Dan Israel -- an NFL broadcasting legend & Hall of Fame producer. More importantly, a friend and a colleague,” the station shared on social media. “His impact on the Chiefs Radio Network is synonymous with the Chiefs Kingdom. Our thoughts are with his family and loved ones.”
The Kansas City Chiefs also shared their condolences on social media. Owner Clark Hunt, head coach Andy Reid and President Mark Donovan each shared their own statements.
