Pair of Sporting KC players selected as alternates for US Olympic team
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - The Paris Olympics are around the corner, and a couple of Kansas City athletes have been added to Team USA.
Sporting KC’s Jake Davis and John Pulskamp have been selected to join the U.S. Men’s Olympic Soccer Team for the 2024 Summer Games. The two Sporting players join two other alternates who can replace an active roster player who goes down due to injury.

Davis earned his first national team selection since joining the U.S. U-17s in 2019, Sporting KC stated. Pulskamp returns to international duty after starting for the U.S. Men’s Olympic Team in a 1-1 friendly draw with Iraq last November in Spain.
Team USA will begin its tournament on July 24, two days prior to the Opening Ceremony, against host France in Marseille. The team will then stay in Marseille and face New Zealand on July 27 before squaring off against Guinea in their group finale on July 30 in Saint-Etienne.

The Olympic Men’s Soccer Tournament is restricted to players under 23 years old, with each team allowed three overage players on its roster.
