KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Sporting Kansas City announced Monday the club was mutually parting ways with Brian Bliss.

Bliss joined the organization in 2016 and for the last five years served as SKC’s Technical Director and Vice President of Player Personnel.

He concluded his playing career with the Kansas City Wizards in 1998 and was an assistant coach for the club from 2000-2006.

“Brian has been a great ambassador for Sporting Kansas City and his efforts as a leading member of our technical staff are appreciated,” said Sporting KC Co-Principal Owner Michael Illig. “We are thankful for his commitment to the organization, and we wish him well.”

The club said an announcement on Bliss’ replacement will come in the next few days.

Sporting KC is currently in 13th place in the MLS Western Conference and have lost 10 of the club’s past 11 matches.
