KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A Kansas City, Missouri, native heard his name called in the NFL Draft on Friday.

Ruskin High School product Aireontae Ersery was drafted by the Houston Texans with the 48th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Ersery, who played left tackle at the University of Minnesota during his college career, was an AP Third Team All-American and an All-Big Ten First Team selection in 2024.

He started the final 38 games of his career as a Golden Gopher at left tackle.

At the NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis in February, Ersery ran a 5.01 40-yard dash and measured in at 6-foot-6, 331 pounds.

NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein complimented Ersery’s size and said at the NFL level, he’d likely be moved to play right tackle.

Ersery becomes just the second player in Ruskin High School history to reach the NFL.
