KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - One of the best local prep hoopers from Kansas City announced he’ll be transferring to one of college basketball’s blue bloods for next season.

Staley High School product Kyan Evans announced in an Instagram post Wednesday night his plans to transfer to North Carolina for his junior season.

Evans, who starred at Colorado State and played for the Rams during an NCAA Tournament run this season, joins the Tar Heels after All-American guard RJ Davis exhausted his eligibility for UNC.

“LET’S DO IT!,” Evans post was captioned.

The 6-foot-2 guard who is a Kansas City, Missouri, native averaged 10.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.1 assists for Colorado State as a sophomore while shooting 47% from the field and 44.6% from 3-point range.

He made a go-ahead 3-pointer with seconds remaining in the Rams’ second-round NCAA Tournament loss to Maryland.

Evans left Colorado State following the departure of his head coach Niko Medved, who took the Minnesota job following their NCAA Tournament exit. He chose North Carolina over Minnesota, Missouri and Kansas, among others.
