Kansas forward Flory Bidunga to stay in Lawrence after entering transfer portal
LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - University of Kansas forward Flory Bidunga, a top transfer in the portal, has made a deal to remain a Jayhawk for a second year.
Bidunga entered the portal on March 29 after a dispirited season. On Sunday, April 6, Pete Thamel, Senior Writer for ESPN, reported that Bidunga told the network he agreed to a deal to stay with the team as Bill Self attempts to rebuild his roster.
“I’m really excited to be back for another year to continue grow and develop and bring a national championship to Kansas,” Bidunga told ESPN.
Bidunga is the first player from KU to enter the portal this year and return to the team. The Forward came to the University as a Top 20 recruit.
This past season, KU athletics reports that Bidunga averaged 5.9 points per game with 5.4 rebounds and played an average of around 16 minutes a game. He has a career 200 points with 552 minutes played.
The Jayhawks now look to rebuild and move on from a 21-13 season and first-round loss in the NCAA Tournament against Arkansas.
