‘Tragic accident’: Pregnant woman dies in crash while riding motorcycle with husband
PIEDMONT, S.C. (WHNS/Gray News) - Authorities in South Carolina are investigating a deadly motorcycle crash that took the life of a young woman.
According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, the crash took place around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Augusta Road and West Georgia Road.
Officials said the driver and passenger of the motorcycle were both taken to the hospital for treatment, but the female rider did not survive.
The passenger has since been identified as 28-year-old Kristin Cheyenne Martinson.
According to a GoFundMe, Kristin Martinson, who goes by Cheyenne, was six months pregnant when she died. She was on the motorcycle with her husband, Peter Martinson, at the time of the crash.
A family friend said Peter Martinson remained hospitalized and was slowly coming off sedation. It is unknown as to the extent of his injuries.
The fundraiser mentioned that the couple also have a 2-year-old son with the money raised going toward hospital bills, household expenses, and the costs associated with caring for the couple’s child.
Authorities did not immediately release further information regarding the crash.
