(CNN) - Brad Arnold, the lead singer of popular early 2000s rock band 3 Doors Down, says he has cancer, leading the band to cancel its upcoming tour.

The 46-year-old Arnold posted a video to social media Wednesday saying he has been diagnosed with clear cell renal cell carcinoma, a form of kidney cancer. He says the stage 4 cancer has metastasized into his lung.

“That’s not real good,” Arnold said in the video, “but we serve a mighty God, and he can overcome anything. So, I have no fear.”

Arnold says his diagnosis means the band is canceling its 2025 tour, which was supposed to start May 15 in Daytona Beach. He asked fans to send prayers and joked that he should go listen to the band’s 2008 song “It’s Not My Time.”

3 Doors Down formed in the mid-1990s, with Arnold as one of the founding members. The band is known for songs like “Here Without You,” “When I’m Gone” and “Kryptonite.”

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma is the most common type of kidney cancer in adults. According to the National Cancer Institute, when this type of cancer has spread to other parts of the body, as Arnold’s has, the 5-year survival rate is about 10%.
