Former Chiefs defensive player inducted into KC’s Hall of Fame
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A former Kansas City football player will be inducted into the Chiefs Hall of Fame this year.
Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt announced former nose tackle Bill Maas will be the 2025 inductee.
“My family and I are excited to welcome Bill Maas as the newest member of the Chiefs Hall of Fame,” Chiefs Chairman and CEO Clark Hunt said. “Bill was a first-round draft pick who immediately made an impact, earning Defensive Rookie of the Year honors and a spot on the NFL All-Rookie Team during his first season.”
Mass played for the Chiefs from 1984 to 1992 and appeared in 116 games throughout his career in Kansas City. He helped the Chiefs secure a spot in the playoffs in 1986, 1990, 1991 and 1992.

Mass played college football at the University of Pittsburgh before becoming the fifth overall selection by Kansas City in the 1984 NFL Draft. During his time in Kansas City, Mass played with multiple Chiefs Hall of Famers including Art Still, Gary Spani, Neil Smith and Derrick Thomas. Maas was elected into the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.
After a successful football career, Mass became an NFL analyst for Fox Sports, KCSP 610 Sports, Time Warner Cable and most recently, WHB 810 Sports. Maas has also been an active member of the Kansas City Ambassadors since 1999, where he has developed partnerships with multiple charities.
