Royals say Kyle Wright will make rehab start during continued recovery from shoulder issues

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Royals said right-handed pitcher Kyle Wright will make a rehab assignment later this week as he continues his recovery from a shoulder injury.

Wright, who missed the entire 2024 season as he dealt with a shoulder injury that required surgery, is expected to make a rehab assignment with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals in Double-A.

The right-hander who was traded to the Royals in November 2023 by the Atlanta Braves won 21 games in 2022. That was the only season of his career in which he’s pitched more than 38 innings.

He was placed on the injured list on March 24.
