KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Kansas City Royals outfielder Dairon Blanco is set to begin a rehab assignment on Tuesday, the club announced.

Blanco, one of Kansas City’s fastest baserunners, was placed on the 10-day injured list on March 31 due to right Achilles tendinopathy. He exited a game against the Cleveland Guardians after scoring from second base on a single from Bobby Witt Jr.

Blanco will begin the rehab assignment in Triple-A with the Omaha Storm Chasers.

With Blanco out of the lineup for nearly a month, Kansas City has gotten contributions from Tyler Tolbert and Drew Waters as fourth outfielders.
