KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Wednesday night’s game between the Kansas City Royals and Colorado Rockies has been postponed.

The Royals said the game would begin in a rain delay as inclement weather moved through the Kansas City metro area. Following a more than two-hour-long rain delay, the game was postponed in favor of a doubleheader on Thursday.

Wednesday’s game was originally scheduled to begin at 6:40 p.m. The first game of Thursday’s doubleheader will begin at 1:10 p.m.

Kansas City defeated Colorado 4-3 in 11 innings on Monday night during the first of a six-game homestand at Kauffman Stadium.

It’s the first postponement of the year for the Royals.

This is a developing story. KCTV will update it when more information becomes available.
