Royals’ Mark Canha removed from game after running into wall

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Veteran Kansas City Royals outfielder Mark Canha was removed from Tuesday night’s game after crashing into the left field wall at Kauffman Stadium attempting to make a catch.
Canha was tracking a fly ball off the bat of Minnesota Twins outfielder Harrison Bader during the fifth inning of Tuesday night’s game. He leapt at the wall and the ball hit the palm of his glove, falling for a long single that scored the Twins’ first run of the game.
Outfielder Hunter Renfroe replaced Canha in the next inning, moving to right field and sliding MJ Melendez into left field as a result.
The Royals said Canha left the game due to left hip soreness.
The 36-year-old was acquired by the Royals via trade at the end of Spring Training in a deal with the Milwaukee Brewers. He was 5-for-12 hitting for Kansas City so far this season.
