Temwa Chawinga named NWSL MVP after record-breaking season

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - She won the NWSL Golden Boot award for most goals scored. She tallied a goal against each NWSL opponent. And now, she can call herself NWSL MVP.

The NWSL announced on Friday morning that Kansas City Current forward Temwa Chawinga was named the league’s MVP.

Chawinga scored 21 goals in 27 matches, becoming the first player in league history to eclipse the 20-goal mark in a single season.

Chawinga becomes the first Current player to win NWSL MVP.
