TIME names KC Current Stadium, The Rabbit hOle among ‘World’s Greatest Places 2024′
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The home of the Kansas City Current continues to receive national - and international - accolades.
TIME revealed that CPKC Stadium is a must-visit destination on its annual list of the World’s Greatest Places.

The list highlights 100 places people should visit and stay at when traveling.
The list was created by TIME gathering nominations of different places including hotels, restaurants, cruises, parks, museums and more from the international network of correspondents and contributors that TIME has. Creating the list also included an application process especially for new and exiting spaces.

“CPKC Stadium deserves to be recognized as one of TIME’s World’s Greatest Places,” said KC Current President Raven Jemison. “Ownership’s vision has changed women’s professional sports for generations to come. Now the world knows what the excitement is about; we’re just getting started.”
This stadium is the first in the world specifically built for a professional women’s team. Following it’s opening on march 24, the stadium was announced on July 3 as the venue for the 2024 National Women’s Soccer League Championship. This championship will be held on November 23. The stadium was also selected for the site to hold the 2024 Big 12 Soccer Championship and will hold the 2024 NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup semifinals.
“We are proud to have CPKC Stadium included on TIME’s list of the World’s Greatest Places of 2024,” said VP, Stadium Business Development and General Manager, Stefanie Tomlin. “The experience for players and fans is unparalleled. The venue is not just best-in-class and one-of-its-kind purpose-built for women’s soccer, but one that will go down in history as one of the preeminent sports destinations in the world.”

The Rabbit hOle is an immersive new children’s museum in North Kansas City, whose self-proclaimed mission is to create a living culture around literature, accessible to all, that will nourish, empower, and inspire the reading lives of children and adults.
“The Rabbit hOle is as much about communing with literature as it is about creating it: kids can craft in the maker space, and develop their own flip books and zines in the story lab,” TIME stated.

Inspired by the magic of children’s books, the museum is the brainchild of co-founders Deb Pettid and Pete Cowdin.
“Reading is the foundation of all learning. It’s the foundation of our democracy. It’s so important for kids to be excited about reading before they even start developing those skills and so really that’s our goal is we want every child who comes here to be able to find their own story,” said development manager Emily Hane in April.
As one enters the ‘rabbit hole,’ families are taken into a storybook world. Each exhibit is inspired by the colors and themes of 45 different stories. The founders were loosely inspired by City Museum in St. Louis, and wanted to capture the same essence of children’s imagination and creativity through reading.
It has previously landed on PEOPLE’s 2024 Food & Travel Special.
