Several KC Current players make NWSL’s ‘Best XI’ for June

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The majority of the National Women’s Soccer League’s ‘Best XI’ for the month of June wears teal and red.
On Friday, the NWSL announced its ‘Best XI’ presented by Amazon Prime. Of those 11 players featured, four of them are members of the surging KC Current.
The four representatives for the Current include defenders Elizabeth Ball and Izzy Rodriguez, midfielder Lo’eau Labonta and forward Temwa Chawinga.

The group of Current stars have fueled Kansas City to a 10-1-5 record and second place in the NWSL standings. In June, the Current were 3-0-1 in NWSL play and outscored their opponents 13-5.
