‘It was either he died, or I died’: Sexual assault accuser reacts to Golubski’s death
KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) - Disgraced Kansas City, Kansas Police detective Roger Golubski died by gunfire on Monday, according to federal prosecutors.
One of his alleged survivors believes his death means justice hasn’t been served.
I don’t think nobody that wasn’t guilty would’ve killed themselves and so he was guilty."
Golubski was set to appear in court for his federal trial the day he died. A judge issued an arrest warrant when he did not show up and the case was dismissed after learning of his death. Police did not say if the incident was a suicide, but they did add there were no indications of foul play in the death of the 71-year-old man.

Williams said Golubski came to her home while on duty more than 25 years ago and sexually assaulted her after her 14-year-old sons were arrested.
“He knew I was telling the truth and he couldn’t handle the truth so he’s dead,” said Williams.

Prosecutors say for years female residents of KCK’s low-income neighborhoods, many of whom were African American, lived in fear they too would be subject to Golubski’s threats and sexual demands.
“The same thing that he told me, that if I told anybody what he could do to me, kill me or take me somewhere. Kill me or have somebody kill me,” said Williams. “It was either he died, or I died.”

A lawsuit filed in September claims Golubski used his position of privilege as a police detective to protect drug dealers and sex traffickers from law enforcement. Williams raised the question of how privilege affected the case leading up to his death.
She said he took her body and her respect. On Monday, she said his death meant one more thing was taken from her.
“I couldn’t tell him, how he made me feel,” said Williams. “I done told the news people so I just wanted him to be there and listen to what we had to say but he didn’t give it a chance.”
Although the case is dismissed, Williams says the fight isn’t over. Her six granddaughters and two sons currently behind bars are what keeps her going.
“I’m not a quitter. I’m not running and I sure as hell ain’t gonna take my own life,” she said.
Investigators have scheduled an autopsy.
KCTV5 reached out to the KCK Police Department for a statement but they do not have a comment, at this time.
Despite Golubski’s accuser alleging that he died by suicide, KCTV5 has yet to confirm the manner of death. More information will be provided as our investigation continues.
