Naked man arrested after biting dog, officer in Lawrence gas station bathroom
LAWRENCE, Kan. (KCTV) - A naked man was arrested in the bathroom of a Lawrence gas station after he refused to stop pleasuring himself and bit his own dog as well as a police officer.
The Lawrence, Kansas, Police Department says that just before 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, emergency crews were called to the Casey’s General Store at 1703 W. 6th St. with reports of a trespasser. Callers reported that a homeless man with a dog refused to leave the business’s restroom.
When first responders arrived, they said they found the man naked and touching himself. When he refused to stop, they attempted to arrest him, but he began to fight them off.
Ultimately, law enforcement officials said the man was tased twice but continued to fight. He was eventually placed in handcuffs but continued to resist. While still in the cramped bathroom, he bit onto his dog’s ear and neck and refused to let go.
As more investigators arrived, they said they were able to subdue the suspect and take him to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Once he is released, he is expected to be booked into the Douglas County Correctional Facility on a slew of charges.
Law enforcement officials said multiple officers sustained injuries in the scuffle, including an officer who was treated for a bite wound. The canine was also taken to the Lawrence Humane Society for treatment of minor injuries.
As the suspect has yet to be identified, LKPD said no further information has been released.
