OVERLAND PARK, Kan. (KCTV) - By a vote of 10 to 1 with 1 abstaining, the Overland Park City Council passed a motion April 21 to negotiate a 10-year tax rebate program for Fiserv, Inc.

Fiserv Inc. is the Fortune 500 company that announced plans to open a new financial and technical hub at the former Sprint Headquarters near 119 Street and Nall Avenue.

The financial technology company is said to bring approximately 2,000 jobs, averaging about $125,000 in yearly compensation.

The new site includes 427,000 square feet of space across two buildings. Fiserv says the Overland Park campus was selected for its central location in the country, proximity to Fiserv’s Midwest client base, affordable living, and the opportunity to attract tech talent.
