Kansas City vandals damage power pole while trying to steal cables, police say

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Vandals cause significant damage near Ward Parkway Center earlier this week.
Kansas City police officers responded to a call near 89th and Wornall around 4 a.m. Tuesday.
Officers said they found a number of damaged cables on the ground. They also noticed damage to at least one power pole.
Police said they believe someone tried to steal the wiring but ran away before police arrived.
Officers continue to investigate the damage and follow leads.
