KC Current, NWSL release 2025 regular season schedule

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Kansas City Current -- in partnership with the NWSL -- have announced their 2025 schedule and no team in the league has more nationally televised matches than Kansas City.
The Current will appear in a league-high 23 of 26 matches on national TV.
As has become tradition for the Current, their opening match of the season will kick off at home against the Portland Thorns. It’ll be the third straight season that’s happened for Kansas City and will come this year on Saturday, March 15 at 11:45 a.m. CT at CPKC Stadium.
In May and early June, the Current will have a four-match run against teams that appeared in the league’s 2024 playoffs. That includes a match against Bay FC on Sunday, May 11, and road contests against the Orlando Pride (May 16), Chicago Stars (May 24) and Gotham FC (June 7).
Kansas City will have a CBA-mandated break from June 23-29 and the entire month of July off from NWSL competition while confederation competitions are staged.
The Current also close the season with five of their last seven matches at home. That includes the final home game of the season, a Nov. 2 match against the San Diego Wave.
The 2025 NWSL Playoffs will include an opening round from Nov. 7-9, the semifinal round from Nov. 14-16, and the 2025 NWSL Championship on Nov. 22.
