COLUMBIA, Mo. (KCTV) - Missouri football announced a change to their schedule, moving their season-opening game against Central Arkansas to the traditional Thursday night place.

Mizzou football announced Thursday that their opening game of the 2025 season will be played on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 6:30 p.m. CT.

The game had originally been scheduled to be played on Saturday, Aug. 30. Now, it goes back to a Thursday night timeslot that Mizzou has played in for several years. It’s the fourth year in a row the Tigers have opened on a Thursday night and is the eight weeknight home game for Mizzou since 2015.

“We’re excited to keep this new tradition going with Mizzou football opening its season on a Thursday night in CoMo leading into the Labor Day weekend,” head coach Eliah Drinkwitz said. “We want to thank Central Arkansas and the SEC for agreeing to the change. We’re looking forward to seeing a packed Memorial Stadium and continuing our sellout steak into the 2025 season.”

The game against Central Arkansas is the first of eight home games at Faurot Field in 2025.
