Grill named SEC Sixth Man of the Year as trio of Tigers get league honors
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KCTV) - A trio of Missouri Tigers were given All-SEC honors on Monday in the league’s postseason awards.
Graduate student guard Caleb Grill was named SEC Sixth Man of the Year. Grill, who made two stops at Iowa State and another at UNLV before arriving at Mizzou, averaged 14.2 points per game on 49.6% shooting from the floor and 42.3% shooting from 3-point range.
Grill led the Tigers in scoring in six games during the regular season. One of those team-leading performances was a 20-point scoring effort in a road win at Mississippi State on Feb. 1. He becomes the second Mizzou man in school history to win Sixth Man of the Year honors by a conference.

Along with Grill, junior forward Mark Mitchell was named an All-SEC Third Team member and sophomore guard Anthony Robinson was named to the SEC All-Defensive Team.
Mitchell’s all-conference awards come in his first season with the Tigers after transferring from Duke. He finished the regular season with a team-high 14.3 points per game and was second on the Tigers with 4.7 rebounds per game.
Robinson joins Dru Smith as the second Tiger in school history to earn SEC All-Defensive Team honors. Robinson averaged just over 2 steals per game.

Mizzou opens the postseason as the No. 7 seed in the SEC Tournament. They’ll open their postseason in the Second Round of the SEC Tournament Thursday at 6 p.m. against the winner of Mississippi State and LSU.
