$100 million school bond vote passes in Johnson County

JOHNSON COUNTY, Kan. (KCTV) - Unofficial election results in Johnson County indicated a $100 million school bond vote has passed.

The bond will significantly help the Gardner Edgerton School District.

It will fund a new elementary school, convert Sunflower Elementary into a special needs early childhood center, replace and improve all playgrounds, provide safety and security upgrades and expand common spaces at Gardner Edgerton High School.

The bond will also help build a new district service center.

Unofficial results Tuesday evening revealed 2,236 ‘yes’ votes and 1,581 ‘no’ votes.
