Report: Chiefs address defensive secondary, sign Chargers CB Kristian Fulton
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - The Chiefs office has brought in a significant addition to help with the looming attrition in the secondary.
The Kansas City Chiefs signed former Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Kristian Fulton to a two-year, $20 million contract with $15 million guaranteed, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Fulton, 26, was taken in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans, where he played four seasons. He spent his 2024 season with the Chargers, starting 14 games and tallying one interception (coincidentally off Patrick Mahomes in the play that led to Rashee Rice’s season-ending knee injury).

Cornerbacks Trent McDuffie, Jaylen Watson and Joshua Williams all enter the 2025 season in the final year of their rookie contracts. McDuffie is under club control for the 2026 season, however, because he was a first round pick.
Fulton’s signing adds an extra body should Watson or Williams pursue free agency and look elsewhere next offseason.
Fulton has started 51 times and played in 57 games over his five-year career. He has amassed five interceptions during his pro career.
On Monday, the Chiefs reportedly agreed on free agent contracts with former San Francisco 49ers left tackle Jaylon Moore and running back Elijah Mitchell.
