KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Jackson County held a press conference on Monday morning to address the recent order issued by the State Tax Commission.

County Executive Frank White, Jr., County Assessor Gail McCann Beatty, County Counselor Bryan Covinsky and County Administrator Troy Schulte held the news conference in an effort to “provide clarity on the County’s response to the STC’s order, address misinformation, and discuss the potential impacts on property assessments, community services, and local finances.”

The STC ordered the county to correct the 2023 assessment and ordered increases in valuation be capped at 15% for 2023 and 2024.
