MANHATTAN, Kan (KCTV) - Former Kansas State guard Dug McDaniel will spend his final season of college basketball at Memphis.

The 5-foot-11 guard announced his commitment to the Tigers on Thursday, a week-and-a-half after entering the transfer portal following one season at K-State. McDaniel shared his commitment with On3′s Joe Tipton.

McDaniel averaged 11.4 points per game during his lone season in Manhattan. He joined the Wildcats after two seasons at Michigan and started 23 of 32 games for K-State and was the second-leading scorer on a team that went 16-17, missing the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row.

The Washington, DC, native also averaged 4.9 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game in 2024-25. He scored more than 20 points three times during the season but shot below his career averages at 37.8% from the floor and 25.8% from 3-point range as a Wildcat.

McDaniel becomes the second Wildcat in the Jerome Tang era to head to Memphis following a transfer after forward Nae’Qwan Tomlin joined the Tigers after being dismissed from the program during the 2023-24 season.
