Iowa lands former K-State sharpshooter Brendan Hausen

MANHATTAN, Kan. (KCTV) - Kansas State’s best shooter this season is headed to the Big Ten.
On Monday, former Kansas State guard Brendan Hausen announced his transfer to Iowa following a season in Manhattan. The news was first reported by CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.
Hausen arrived at K-State via a transfer from Villanova. He shot 38.8 percent from 3-point range and averaged 10.9 points per game for head coach Jerome Tang’s team before entering the transfer portal. His scoring average was third-best on the Wildcats this season.
The 6-foot-4 guard from Amarillo, Texas, will join the Hawkeyes for his final season of eligibility.

Hausen was part of a K-State team that went 16-17 and missed the NCAA Tournament for the second season in a row. In Iowa, he’ll unite with former Northwest Missouri State head coach Ben McCollum and Liberty, Missouri, native Bennett Stirtz, who helped lead Drake to a Missouri Valley Conference title and a first-round NCAA Tournament victory over Mizzou this March.
Hausen is one of four players on the K-State roster who entered the transfer portal following the 2024-25 season along with Macaleab Rich, Ugonna Onyenso and Baye Fall.
