MANHATTAN, Kan. (KCTV) - Kansas State star Serena Sundell will soon find out where her professional basketball career begins.

Sundell, a Maryville, Missouri, native who starred for the Wildcats, was officially invited to the WNBA Draft, the league announced Friday. The 2025 WNBA Draft will take place April 14 at 6:30 p.m. CT on ESPN.

Sundell led the Wildcats in assists this year with 7.3 assists per game. That mark ranked second in all of Division I basketball. Her 262 assists this season and 811 over her career are both K-State records.

The local product is a two-time All-Big 12 selection and averaged 14.1 points per game this season en route to being named to the First Team All-Big 12.

She helped K-State win 28 games this season, the most for the Wildcats since 2003. Led by Sundell, K-State also reached the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2002.

While many believed the Wildcats may have had multiple pros on their team this season, center Ayoka Lee announced she would not pursue a professional career after battling injuries throughout her college career.

Bleacher Report’s most recent mock draft had Sundell being selected with the 12th overall pick -- the final pick of the first round -- by the Dallas Wings.
