Report: K-State’s McDaniel enters transfer portal
MANHATTAN, Kan. (KCTV) - Jerome Tang and the Kansas State Wildcats were dealt another blow Monday with the departure of another key contributor.
Junior guard Dug McDaniel told On3 Sports’ Joe Tipton he’s entering the transfer portal following a disappointing season in Manhattan. McDaniel, a 5-foot-11 guard who transferred to K-State following two seasons at Michigan, averaged 11.4 points per game for the Wildcats.
McDaniel started 23 of 32 games for K-State and was the second-leading scorer on a K-State team that went 16-17, missing the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row.

The Washington, DC, native also averaged 4.9 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game in 2024-25. He scored more than 20 points three times during the season but shot below his career averages at 37.8% from the floor and 25.8% from 3-point range as a Wildcat.
He becomes the fifth Wildcat to enter the transfer portal, joining Brendan Hausen, Macaleab Rich, Ugonna Onyenso and Baye Fall.
