MANHATTAN, Kan. (KCTV) - On a day Jerome Tang and the Kansas State Wildcats lost a player to the transfer portal, they also added another.

ESPN’s Pete Thamel reported that UNC Wilmington forward Khamari McGriff has joined the Wildcats. He averaged 11.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game for the Seahawks in 2024-25 while shooting 65.1% from the floor.

McGriff was part of a UNC Wilmington team that reached the NCAA Tournament this past season, a feat he and the Wildcats are hoping to achieve following a two-year drought for K-State.

In the Round of 64, McGriff had 8 points and 3 rebounds in a loss to Texas Tech. He and the Seahawks played at KU in November and McGriff had 18 points and 7 rebounds.

He’s the second transfer portal addition for K-State this season, joining Monmouth’s Abdi Bashir Jr.

McGriff’s commitment comes on the same day that K-State guard Dug McDaniel entered the transfer portal and Brendan Hausen committed to Iowa.
